ACECHO A LA RAZÓN
UN ATISBO AL HACER PLÁSTICO DE ITZEEL REYES
Itzeel Reyes es una artista que ha nacido con el arte en su cuerpo, su mente y sus sentidos. Como hija de artistas plásticos, desde la infancia estuvo familiarizada con este medio de expresión a través de talleres que no ha abandonado desde entonces y en los que participa activa y creativamente. Personajes que nos acechan contemplándonos desde ese mundo que les crea Itzeel y nos amenazan con llevarnos a él, a su légamo de extrañeza y se cuelan en portadas de revistas, en ilustraciones que nos convocan al silencio reverente ante su presencia.
Abre surcos en la piel para llegar al alma de esos seres que presenta en tinta china, penetra la epidermis que retrata para ir más allá y dar un reflejo complejo de sentimientos, sensaciones, pensamientos, que sacuden a esos cuerpos que se muestran indefensos ante la mirada de la artista.
Sus distintas series de óleos y grabados conservan el misterio y el desconcierto en que nos sumen, sin olvidar ese punto de ferocidad contenida, de amenaza velada que eriza los vellos de aquél que contempla estas obras.
Aunque ella misma se considera más pintora que grabadora, sus grabados contienen un atractivo deslumbrante e inquietante. Sus personajes son perturbadores en su forma y actitudes. Oscuros, siniestros, desasosegadores. Son fruto de un intelecto inquieto y una imaginación desbordada donde las formas se unen a las intenciones y un universo paralelo permea peligrosamente la endeble realidad. Lo inesperado salta donde lo cotidiano parece reinar.
En sus obras con protagonistas femeninas, el dolor y el éxtasis se entreveran sinuosamente para lograr un gran impacto en el espectador.
Combinan la maldad con la atracción totales en obras que seducen y deslumbran a quien se acerca a ellas en composiciones plásticas hermosas y sugerentes, plenas de misterio y extrañeza. ¿No decía Baudelaire que estos eran ingredientes básicos de la auténtica Belleza?
Por último, sus óleos, con colores intensos crean vehementes impresiones, sus atmósferas y texturas transportan al espectador a mundos inverosímiles y sus personajes penetran en el inconsciente colectivo despertando innombrables anhelos, ensueños, fantasías de posibilidades, de existencias, con fuertes vivencias de por medio.
Este es el mundo plástico en el que se inserta la muestra que aquí se presenta. Un universo pleno de formas profundas e insinuantes, que penetra en lo más profundo del espíritu humano para despertar oscuras potencias y permitir un goce distinto, innombrable, un recóndito lugar que nos lleva a recordar un placer lejano que acecha, de lejos, a la razón.
